Nederland Saws and Slaw – Sunny Side

Hello All –

Thanks so much for supporting the Saws and Slaws program! Our next event will be in the Sunny Side neighborhood tomorrow Sunday Aug 26th from 8am to 12pm with a potluck to follow. The event will cover three private properties and part of the Nederland Elementary School property. Dallas and Laurence Masters are hosting the event and they live at 30 Sundown Trail. We have attached a map (the bmp file) and will have road side signs to guide folks into the event.

DIRECTIONS: 30 Sundown Trail (by the lower NES Athletic Fields), Nederland CO 80466 – A map is attached. Please park on the north side of the road, as we’ll be piling slash on the north side of the road.

WAIVER: All participants are asked to sign a release waiver. I’ve attached a copy, please spend a couple minutes to review the form. We’ll have this same form you to sign at the start of the day.

WHAT TO EXPECT:

Arrive at 8 am and drop off food for the potluck – if you can bring cold items in a cooler it will be helpful.

We will have a short meeting before we get started to make introductions, go over paperwork to sign (waivers), talk about safety, and then layout the work that we will do.

Break into crews and start on the mitigation effort.

Around noon we will stop working, come together for a potluck, and look over all the great work that has been done.

WHAT TO BRING:

Sturdy shoes, Gloves, Hat (hard hat if you have one)

Safety equipment : Eye protection and hearing protection

Plenty of water / sun screen

Your potluck “dish” (please bring cold items in a cooler if possible).
