Sugarloaf Fire Mitigation at Kelly West, round II

How to be a Sugarloaf hero:
It’s easy–show up for Saws & Slaws Sunday September 21st at the corner of Douglas Court & Kelly West.
While we usually aim to protect individual homes, this time we focus on one acre (owned by Boulder Valley School District) whose flammability affects many of us. Fire loves to race up a heavily wooded draw, as this one is, but our intervention can starve the next fire of available fuel. This tract in its current state is a loaded shotgun pointed uphill, and a good crew of us can unload it.
All of us in Sugarloaf are stakeholders here. Fire on one place very likely means fire coming for yours.
We’ll create a bunch of firewood for folks to take home.
To join us you need only: sturdy footwear, clothes you can get dirty, & work gloves. If you can heft a full basket of laundry you can handle a pine limb and will make a good hand. Bring a dish to pass if you can, but don’t stay away for the lack of one–no one keeps score in this kitchen. The main dish will be Marcia’s famous BBQ ribs.
