As we dream of snowflakes, we are still very much under threat of wildfires. The heat, falling dead leaves, and blustery conditions are a sobering wildfire recipe for our canyon, and our state. One of the most useful things you can do to protect your home, and your neighbor’s, is to practice defensible space.   • Saws & Slaws in the Hilltop ‘Hood!!

    Come join us on Saturday, June 9th as we continue to make Hilltop Rd. safer from fire danger. These neighbors have worked hard for years and it is paying off! We will be meeting at 31600 Hilltop Rd. for our Safety meetings as well as our potluck meal. We are following a different model this year: Sawyers should plan to arrive at 7:45 to drop off potluck items and have their safety meeting. We will give them an hour headstart so there is enough slash to keep the Swampers busy. Sawyers will be done before 11:00. Swampers will arrive by 8:45 to drop items and have a safety meeting.   • 2018 Chainsaw Skills & Safety Class

    This quality, hands-on training will give you the skills you need to effectively and safely use a chainsaw for forest health and property maintenance. Training will be presented in three parts: – Chainsaw Maintenance – cutting safely requires a well running saw. – Chainsaw Safety & Personal Protective Equipment – including things to watch out for while cutting. – Tree Felling & Cutting Skills – classroom review followed by field exercises.   • Operations Meeting

    Saws & Slaws Operations Meetings are open to the public. This meeting is the second meeting in 2018. The agenda will be around preparation for the 2018 season, updates & direction from the Board meeting, operation lead reporting. This will also help to ensure that we have enough food, chairs, and room for all who want to attend.

  • Board of Directors Meeting

    Saws & Slaws Board of Directors Meetings are open to the public. This is the first Board meeting of 2018. We will be approving operational budgets and pricing structure for 2018. Please let us know if you’re interested in attending by emailing us at sawsandslaws@gmail.com and we will send you the meeting location address. This will help us to have enough chairs, food, and room. If we have an abundance of people desiring to come to this meeting, we may move it to a location with more room.
