Nederland Fire Mitigation on Big Springs Drive
Hello Folks Our upcoming event is on Big Springs Drive near the intersection with Valley View and Pine Cliff. We will be working on three properties and will be doing some roadside thinning to improve sight lines for fire equipment and emergency egress. This is an important area as it represents the only way in and out of some neighborhoods in case of fire. This is a big event and we need your help! Nederland fire mitigation at Ridge Road
Hello Folks: Our next Saws and Slaws Event will be Saturday, June 28th from 8am until Noon with a potluck to follow. It is in the St. Antons subdivision at the east end of Ridge road at 3643 Ridge Rd, Nederland. We need all types of volunteers for this event – from Sawyer to swampers. Please let me know if you are available and would like to attend. This is our second event of the season – let’s all come out and help with fire mitigation in the St. Anton’s neighborhood! Coal Creek Community Slash Weekend
Fire Station #2 will again be the location for the community slash weekend. Please note that if the area fills up the we will need to close early. There are fees for the service. Small Pickup Trucks $5-$10, Large Pickup Trucks, $8-$12, Trailers $10-$15, Dump Trucks $20-$25. Slash includes tree branches, limbs, tops, small logs and other tree debris. No tree stumps will be accepted. Be safe and thank you for doing your part in keeping our canyon safer. The Saws and Slaws Team

Sugerloaf Neighborhood Fire Mitigation – Rescheduled for May 18th
Hello Sugarloaf residents, It is a new year and our local Saws & Slaws group has awoken from hibernation. For those who have not heard of Saws & Slaws, it is a local volunteer group that provides free wildfire mitigation right here in our neighborhood, where it is most needed. We spend 4 hours on a given date thinning trees and then have a potluck lunch together to celebrate our work and get to know the neighbors and co-volunteers.
