Hi Friends and Neighbors,   We have Part 2 of our Big Springs Drive mitigation project coming up in two weeks on Saturday, August 16th from 8am until Noon with BBQ potluck lunch after.  We need volunteer Sawyers and Swampers to help with mitigation on two adjoining properties, 281 Big Springs Drive and 5 Barker Road. This event sits on the only egress route for over 100 homes to the east of this intersection.  Mitigating these properties will help insure the safety of all residents and first responders during a wildfire event.  Please come help Saws and Slaws with this important fuels reduction project.  If you can attend please respond to this…

Hello Folks Our upcoming event is on Big Springs Drive near the intersection with Valley View and Pine Cliff. We will be working on three properties and will be doing some roadside thinning to improve sight lines for fire equipment and emergency egress. This is an important area as it represents the only way in and out of some neighborhoods in case of fire. This is a big event and we need your help! Hello Folks: Our next Saws and Slaws Event will be Saturday, June 28th from 8am until Noon with a potluck to follow.  It is in the St. Antons subdivision at the east end of Ridge road at 3643 Ridge Rd, Nederland. We need all types of volunteers for this event – from Sawyer to swampers.  Please let me know if you are available and would like to attend.  This is our second event of the season – let’s all come out and help with fire mitigation in the St. Anton’s neighborhood! Fire Station #2 will again be the location for the community slash weekend. Please note that if the area fills up the we will need to close early. There are fees for the service. Small Pickup Trucks $5-$10, Large Pickup Trucks, $8-$12, Trailers $10-$15, Dump Trucks $20-$25.  Slash includes tree branches, limbs, tops, small logs and other tree debris.  No tree stumps will be accepted.
