    *Now Recruiting Volunteer Sort Yard Hosts – We need your help! Boulder County is seeking individuals who are interested in volunteering as a Sort Yard Host at the Allenspark and Nederland sites. Volunteers help make sure that sort yards continue to be a local hub of community-based forestry information. Volunteer Sort Yard Hosts will greet people as they enter the yard, collect data on the material they are delivering, and provide information about forest ecology, bark beetles, and wildfire mitigation.     Come join us. When driving up Spruce Canyon Drive, when you see Spruce Canyon Circle going to the right, DO NOT take it! Remain heading straight on SC Drive and 11991 is the first house on the right after Nob Way. Please drop off gear and potluck dishes here just before 8 and be ready for our safety meeting and game plan promptly at 8 am.   • Coal Creek Canyon Fire Mitigation at Copperdale

    Come one, Come all!! Sawyers, Swampers, and Fellow Mitigators!! Weather permitting we will kick off this season with a Saws and Slaws event that is sure to please! 4 neighbors collectively have more trees that need cutting than you can shake a sharp stick at. There will be tree cutting, tree limbing, slash moving, chipping, leaf blowing, weed whacking, and all manner of fire mitigation and forest stewardship.   • Kickoff meeting for North Mountains Land Use Plan

    (Jefferson County) – Residents of Unincorporated Jefferson County’s North Mountain area, which includes Golden Gate Canyon and Coal Creek Canyon, will have the opportunity to shape the future of their neighborhoods as the count’s Planning & Zoning Division starts the update to the North Mountains Community Plan. Join Planning & Zoning staff to hear about the update process and to let staff know what is unique about the area. Staff will present what the plan is, why it is being updated and how to get involved. Then they will ask citizens questions about the area.
