The Blue Mountain Community is excited to host June’s event. Lyn Wagner has volunteered to spearhead the team’s efforts for the Blue Mountain Community and welcomes any assistance you can provide. This volunteer, non-profit group focuses on fire mitigation to provide defensible zones around residences. They will also assist homeowners in removal of trees infested with pine beetles and dwarf mistletoe. Hello All, We will be having another action packed Nederland Saws and Slaws event in the Big Springs Neighborhood on Saturday August 24th from 8am-Noon with a potluck to follow. We have multiple properties on Ponderosa Drive lined up for fire mitigation. Saws and Slaws is supported by the town of Nederland in many ways, however we depend on volunteers to be the “boots on the ground” to get a great deal of work done in a short amount of time. This is a special project. We will only be dropping trees. The down trees will be cut and processed at a later date by the Town of Nederland. If you have taken the chainsaw and maintenance classes through Saws and Slaws and want some extra experience dropping trees this is a unique event for you.
